Our UMary Marauders (3-3, 2-3 NSIC) are riding into Moorhead this Saturday to crash MSUM’s Homecoming parade and reclaim what belongs in Bismarck: **The Paddle**. This isn't just another conference matchup—this Saturday marks the **20th anniversary of the River Rivalry Series**. The trophy game was created by our very own student governments back in 2006 when UMary made the jump to NCAA Division II, and there would be nothing sweeter than breaking Moorhead's recent run on their own home turf. ## 🔑 Game Day Info - **Matchup:** UMary Marauders at MSUM Dragons - **Date & Time:** Saturday, Oct. 10 at 12:00 p.m. CT - **Location:** SCHEELS Field at Alex Nemzek Stadium | Moorhead, Minn. - **Trophy on the Line:** The Battle for the Paddle - **Watch:** Midco Sports Plus (PPV) / WDAY Channel 6.2 - **Listen:** WZFG Radio (1100 AM / 92.3 FM) ## 🏈 Why UMary Can Take Down the Dragons ### 1. Chris Federico & The Blue-and-Orange Wrecking Crew If you've been watching UMary football this year, you know our defense plays with raw toughness and high intensity. Veteran linebacker Chris Federico has been absolute money, racking up 53 total tackles to lead a defense that excels at disrupting game plans. Moorhead relies heavily on the run, but if Federico and the front seven set the edge and force MSUM into obvious passing situations, the Marauders can throw off their rhythm. ### 2. Ryan Blair & The Air Attack While MSUM has turned into a ground-and-pound squad, UMary boasts a dynamic passing game led by fifth-year quarterback Ryan Blair. Blair has lit up defenses for 1,470 yards and nine touchdowns through six games. With weapons like Karsyn Jablonski, Desmond Duffy, and Ethan Heinrich downfield, UMary has the firepower to stretch MSUM’s secondary and put up big numbers quickly. ### 3. Rivalry Magic & Revenge Last year’s game in Bismarck was a nail-biter that came down to the wire, with MSUM barely holding on for a 38-35 win. UMary proved it can score on the Dragons at will, and history shows this rivalry always delivers high drama—starting with UMary winning the very first meeting 21-20 back in 2006. SPOILER ALERT for Moorhead: Homecoming games bring extra pressure, and our boys are coming in ready to play spoiler. ## Matchup Overview | **Stat** | **UMary Marauders** | **MSUM Dragons** | | --- | --- | --- | | **Record** | 3-3 (2-3 NSIC) | 4-2 (3-2 NSIC) | | **Passing Yards / Game** | 250.5 | 220.5 | | **Pass TDs** | 9 | 12 | | **Defense Tackles Leader** | Chris Federico (53) | Jake Schaefer (35) |   Podcast (Marauders VS Dragons) 2:07   \*Not an Official Organization of the University of Mary. ## Share this post [mailto:https%3A%2F%2Fpage.marauderfootballalumni.com%2Fmarauder-football-alumni-association-blog%2Fbringing-the-paddle-back-to-bismarck-marauders-head-to-moorhead-for-river-rivalry-clash](mailto:https%3A%2F%2Fpage.marauderfootballalumni.com%2Fmarauder-football-alumni-association-blog%2Fbringing-the-paddle-back-to-bismarck-marauders-head-to-moorhead-for-river-rivalry-clash) ## Keep reading ### [![](https://page.marauderfootballalumni.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-09-15%20at%2011.45.39%20AM-1.png?width=3916&height=1882&name=Screenshot%202026-09-15%20at%2011.45.39%20AM-1.png) Staff Team Marauder Alumni Closing the Gap: Why the UMary Marauders are on the Brink of Turning the Tide Against USF](https://page.marauderfootballalumni.com/marauder-football-alumni-association-blog/closing-the-gap-why-the-umary-marauders-are-on-the-brink-of-turning-the-tide-against-usf) ### [![](https://page.marauderfootballalumni.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-09-08%20at%209.00.33%20AM.png?width=1254&height=688&name=Screenshot%202026-09-08%20at%209.00.33%20AM.png) Staff Current Marauders Team Week 2 - Marauders Hit the Road to Face Concordia-St. Paul](https://page.marauderfootballalumni.com/marauder-football-alumni-association-blog/week-2-marauders-hit-the-road-to-face-concordia-st.-paul) [![Marauder Football Alumni Association](https://page.marauderfootballalumni.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design%20(51)%20copy.png?width=200&height=200&name=Untitled%20design%20(51)%20copy.png "Marauder Football Alumni Association")](https://marauderfootballalumni.com/) ###### \*Not an Official Organization of the University of Mary. --- Privacy Policy · Legal · © 2026.
